ExperienceMy true academic passions are mathematics and science. Throughout my own academic career, I have found that I love to convey this appreciation of learning to others. I have primarily tutored high school and advanced placement biology, as well as elementary, middle school, and upper-level mathematics from Algebra all the way up to Calculus III. I love the moment where a core concept really clicks with a student. It's a moment of discovery that I feel is a transformative experience for them. From there, it is much easier to build upon the fundamental concepts to ensure a broad understanding of the subject. Reading is a big part of what I teach, as I feel that it is incredibly helpful to learn analytical strategies. I have learned many tips and tricks throughout my many years of learning and teaching, and I enjoy passing on these skills to students. This helps students get the most out of their reading and helps with important tests like the SAT and ACT. I received a degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. When I'm not tutoring, some of my favorite hobbies include running, reading, playing videogames, watching good television, crocheting, and knitting.
