I am a certified high school English teacher and teacher of ESL for all levels with nearly 25 years of experience. It gives me great joy to enable my students to grow as learners and to achieve their academic goals. Working as a tutor allows me to give students the individual attention they need to succeed, gain confidence as learners and meet their goals. I have worked as an academic tutor as well as being a classroom teacher and have had great success. As a writer, I love helping students find their ability to express themselves both creatively and for professional and academic purposes. This includes college essays, and test preparation. I have great strength in helping English language learners and native speakers in enhancing their reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary and written expression. Writing great college essays, high school essays, improving scores in SAT and ACT reading and writing and TOEFL scores are all within my current experience, as is teaching English to speakers of other languages. I have had great results as a teacher and believe that we are all capable of achieving our goals.

I'm a hiker who thoroughly enjoys nature, a gardener, writer and artist. I also love to cook and decorate. I tend to eat healthy foods. Reading is something I also enjoy. My greatest loves are my two children who are wonderful human beings.
